Tides affect oceans and the shoreline in many ways. For example, when the high tide comes to the shoreline, many living organisms swim out into the water covered shoreline. Later, when the low tide comes, these organisms are stranded on the shore until the high tide comes again. However, most of the sea life that has been stranded on the shore will die out before the high tide once again comes. This is how shells and snails get on the shore of the beach.
Another way that tides affect the living organisms that they affect the long grass like plants like seaweed or kelp. They affect these plants with the slight help of currents. This happens because when the current washes up seaweed close to the shore, the low tide comes in, causing the seaweed or kelp to be washed on the shore or shoreline just like the snails and shells.
