Tides in General
Tides are the rising and falling of water. These two types of tides are called high tides and low tides which are usually seen on the shoreline. These tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon. In fact, the moon's pull is stronger even though the sun has a stronger gravitational pull because the moon is much much closer to the earth where the tides occur than to the sun. When the sun and the moon aare lined up the gravitational pull is at its highest because the pull of both of the outer space objects together is stronger than just the sun or just the moon. In some places the height of tides can drop and rise 14 meters per day. That's a lot.
